One of my favorite images I captured while traveling through Europe.
Seeing the walls of Belfast was a very emotional moment for me. I can remember as a child watching the news and seeing the sadness that came with the violence and how it touched me so young, many times bringing me to tears. I was way to young to understand what was actually happening and what it was about but I knew this moment in history sadden me deeply, so being able to visit and giving my respect and a silent prayer was extremely meaningful to me.
This war dog cemetery at Edinburgh Castle really meant the world to us due to my husband being a K9 Handler for the Air Force…..so happy to see dogs who served their country during a time of war are honored #wardogshonored #edinburghcastle #militaryworkingdogs #dogs #militaryworkingdogshonored #mlissbushphotography #spokanephotographer #doglover #travelphotographer #nikond750
The wildness of Central Washington is amazingly beautiful……. the powerful Columbia River and the Wild Horse Monument are located in Vantage and the prairie image was taken in Sprague Washington. Many people think Washington is rainy and green however Central Washington has some very harsh prairie lands with beauitful landscapes to be capture by any photographer.
I love downtown Seattle and being able to photography the cities beauitful colors and buildings.
It’s been some time since I’ve blogged the month prior to graduation was crazy busy. Between preparing for the Grad Show, Professional Portfolio Review and Graduation I barely knew who I was or were I was going…… so I took some time to regroup and relax and took a well needed short vacation to Seattle.
Graduating with my AAS in Photography is something I am so very proud of and it still feels like I am dreaming at times………. BUT I DID ITQ
A friend of my husband makes beautiful pen sets, so I thought I would photograph this for him. I hope to do a series of his pens because they are truly a work of art. This one he has titled “2nd Amendment” and I love how the case for the pen is actually a gun case.
I have a total love hate relationship with Photoshop and my editing skills are something that I am focused on learning to really bring my images to the next level.
This was my first attempt at taking one of my flower images to the next level in Photoshop. I decided to learn the “oil painting” feature in Photoshop and prayed I wouldn’t toss my computer across the room LOL…….. NOTE: NOTHING WAS HURT OR DESTROYED DURING THE EDITING OF THIS IMAGE. To my utter surprised I completely enjoyed the creative process today and am totally stoked that I learned a new editing style in Photoshop.
I would love to hear your feedback, as well as any ideas/tips you would like to share editing your images especially in the abstract photography area.
Before I entered the world of photography, I realize I rarely slowed down long enough to appreciate the beauty around me, this is why I love getting into photography, you slow down and see the world around you. People, places and things start to take on another world to you and I’m finding that I’m actually connecting to my community and the people around me in ways I never have before. Photographing the beauty of what nature gives us is so rewarding. I love the lines, textures and range of colors nature gives us in her works of art.
It’s my goal in my photography to document people, places and nature, letting my camera capture what I see because I believe documenting what I see is in someway preserving a time in history. The above image I feel I’ve capture the beauty of the rose in its glory, because soon it will die and I will soon forget just how beautiful it was. Life in any form is so fragile and can be gone in a moment, memories fade and we wish we had something to remember what is close to us, so document what you see and hold on to your memories .
